THIOUREA AR

Product Description:

THIOUREA AR  is used in vulcanization accelerators. It is used as an auxiliary agent. It is used in silver – gelatin photographic prints. It is used in diazo paper, light – sensitive photocopy paper.

Product Application:

Thiourea are organic compounds having a carbon atom bonded to two amine groups. The key difference between urea and thiourea is that urea does not contain sulfur atoms, whereas thiourea contains sulfur atoms.

Product Procedure:

The percentages of nitrogen and sulfur in all the samples synthesized from thiourea were roughly 5–20 wt. % and 3–8 wt. % even after washing with hot water, respectively.

Product Note:

Thiourea, also chemically named as Thiocarbamide, is a nitrogen and sulfur containing compound. It has three functional. groups, amino, imino and thiol, each with important biological roles.

Thiourea is used for Cleaning Silver or Copper

ThioUREA 60 % + Surfactant 4% + Acidifier 30 percent + Proprietory Blend

Thiourea is an inhibitor which prevents chemical attack on the metal itself. If thiourea is not used in the treatment solution dissolved copper will be redeposited on the surface of the object, leaving a salmon pink blush on the surface. This then has to be removed by polishing.

Thiourea is an additive used in the electrorefining and electroplating of copper, and it can also be used to clean copper objects:
Electrorefining and electroplating
Thiourea is an important additive in the electrorefining and electroplating of copper. It reacts with copper or copper ions to form CuS, which can lead to the formation of smooth and bright copper deposits.

Cleaning copper objects
Thiourea can be used to clean copper objects by dissolving it in a solution with citric acid. The object is placed in the solution and left until it is clean, which can take several minutes to several hours. After cleaning, the object should be washed thoroughly to remove any traces of acid.

Cleaning Procedure of copper objects:
Wear rubber or nitrile gloves to avoid leaving marks on the copper.
Fully immerse the object in the solution.
Use a soft bristle brush to speed up the cleaning process.
If the object is porous or has been treated for a long time, immerse it in a bath of sodium carbonate to neutralize any acid residue

Thiourea is used as an auxiliary agent in diazo paper, light-sensitive photocopy paper and almost all other types of copy paper. It is also used to tone silver-gelatin photographic prints.

Thiourea, also called thiocarbamide, an organic compound that resembles urea (q.v.) but contains sulfur instead of oxygen; i.e., the molecular formula is CS(NH2)2, while that of urea is CO(NH2)2.

In thiourea, a double bond is present between the carbon and sulfur atom. So, it is an unsaturated compound. Hence, thiourea is an unsaturated compound.

Thiourea PRACT is a white crystalline solid, both naturally occurring and synthetic, that is soluble in water, ammonium thiocyanate solution and ethanol. In the past, it was used as a photographic toning agent, a component of hair preparations and a dry cleaning agent.

Thiourea is used as an auxiliary agent in diazo paper, light-sensitive photocopy paper and almost all other types of copy paper. It is also used to tone silver-gelatin photographic prints.

Dissolve 500 mg 6-chloro-A in 5ml ethanol, add 1.5 equivalents of thiourea and reflux for 1 hour. After the reaction cools down i remove the filtrate and concentrate the flow-though.
