Application & Usage

Tetra-n-butylammonium hydroxide, 40% w/w in methanol is used as a phase-transfer catalyst in organic synthesis especially for alkylation and condensation reactions. It is also used as a curing accelerator for epoxy resins.

Tetramethylammonium hydroxide is a quaternary ammonium salt with the molecular formula N(CH₃)₄⁺ OH⁻. It is commonly encountered as concentrated solutions in water or methanol. The solid and solutions are colorless, or yellowish if impure
