Product Description

Strontium nitrate is an inorganic compound composed of the elements strontium, nitrogen and oxygen with the formula Sr(NO3)2. This colorless solid is used as a red colorant and oxidizer in pyrotechnics.

Application & Usage

Strontium nitrate is used in the production of road flares and in fireworks. It serves as a colorant (red) in pyrotechnics and is also used as an oxidizer in pyrotechnics. It mixed with glycolic acid and used to reduce the sensation of skin irritation. 

Procedure

OXIDIZER that enhances the combustion of other substances. No occupational exposure limits have been established for Strontium Nitrate. However, it may pose a health risk.

Notes

Strontium Nitrate is an odorless, colorless or white, crystalline (sand-like) powder. It is used in signal lights, railroad flares and pyrotechnics, and as a pigment.
