Application & Usage

Parabens (p-hydroxybenzoic acid) are an important class of preservatives extensively used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries for preparing shampoos, commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, personal lubricants, topical/parenteral pharmaceuticals, spray tanning solutions, and toothpaste.

Procedure

A valid and reliable repeated dose toxicity study with oral administration by stomach tube of dosages of 40, 200 and 1000 mg/kg/d of p-hydroxybenzoic acid .

Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
