Magnesium Turnings is the small chip or pieces of Magnesium metal produced by the turning machine in various sizes. It is used by the various pharmaceutical companies, chemical laboratories and, various science teaching schools and institutions for Grignard reaction.

Application & Usage

Magnesium turnings are generally used in the preparation of various organomagnesium compounds such as Grignard reagents. It can also be used to catalyze Pinacol coupling and Reformatsky reaction.

Procedure

MAGNESIUM METAL TURNING  Reagents 5lb slabs of dry ice (2), 30 g of Mg turnings Unlike the alkali metals, magnesium does not react violently with water at room.

 Magnesium alloys have been used as lightweight material in vehicles On the other hand, metal and plastic injection dies/molds or hot and cold.
