Remarks / Precautions
Pure hydrogen peroxide will explode if heated to boiling, will cause serious contact burns.
Procedure
Hydrogen peroxide is unstable and decomposes to form water and oxygen.
2 H2O2 → 2 H2O + O2
The rate of decomposition increases with rising temperature, concentration and pH, with cool, dilute, acidic solutions showing the best stability.
