Application & Usage

Key Characteristics & UsesStructure: It is an aldaric acid derived from the oxidation of glucose. 
Detergents: Its sodium salt is widely used in dishwasher detergents as an eco-friendly chelating agent to replace phosphates. 
Industrial Applications: It acts as a corrosion inhibitor, a metal sequestering agent, and a bio-derived precursor for polymers like Nylon 6,6.
