Product Description
RXSOL Rust Remover
Product Description
RXSOL Rust Remover is a concentrated, acid-based cleaning and descaling compound formulated for the effective removal of rust, iron oxide, corrosion deposits, mineral scale and oxidation from ferrous metal surfaces.
The product penetrates and reacts with rust deposits, helping loosen and dissolve iron oxides so that contaminated surfaces can be cleaned with less mechanical effort. It is particularly suitable for marine, shipboard, shipyard, workshop and industrial maintenance where rusted steel components require cleaning or surface preparation.
RXSOL Rust Remover can be used on steel structures, machinery, pipelines, tanks, tools, fabricated components and other compatible acid-resistant surfaces. After treatment, surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water and, where required, neutralized and protected against flash rusting.
Rust Remover manufacturer, supplier and exporter. Rust remover is advanced blend of various acid with additional base and inhibitor. Its powerful chemical rust removal action dissolves rust without any mechanical action. This is the reason why Rust Remover is so popular for removal of rust before painting.
Easy Rust Removing solution manufactured by RXSOL. Best Rust Remover liquid.
Application & Usage
RXSOL Rust Remover is recommended for cleaning rust and corrosion from:
- Ship decks and steel structures
- Marine equipment and machinery
- Engine-room components
- Steel pipes and pipelines
- Tanks and fabricated steel sections
- Nuts, bolts, tools and mechanical components
- Workshop equipment
- Heat-transfer equipment where compatible
- Rusted steel prior to painting or coating
- Industrial plant and maintenance equipment
Very effective products to removes rust and stains also improves metal appearance.
Direction for use
For rust removal the surfaces to be treated should be free form loose materials, flaking paint, dirt or oil. In most cases diluted solution of RXSOL-16-1088-025 , can be applied by brush ranging from 10-50% and left to react for 5 - 40 minutes then the residues should be rinsed off thoroughly with clean water jet . Smaller objects can be soaked in plastic container. After cleaning, rinse items thoroughly with a water jet.
• For aluminium , only diluted solution up to 10 - 25% can be used and rinse with in 10- 30mins.
• For stainless Steel Disc Cleaning (never use on copper, brass or bronze parts), dilute to 4 - 10 parts water, and immerse from 1 - 3 hours depending on the severity of the job concerned. Cleaning will be accelerated with elevate4d temperatures up to 60°C and agitaion. After cleaning rinse thoroughly with clean water.
For best performance on aluminium use RXSOL Degreaser for degreasing as it has a neutral pH. Paintwork :
RXSOL-16-1011-RR should be diluted with water 1:4 . Then solution can be applied by brushing, spraying for 10 - 20 minutes the residues should be rinsed off thoroughly with high pressure water.
Dosage
Recommended Dilution & Application
For heavy rust and severe corrosion deposits, RXSOL Rust Remover may be used neat or at high concentration, subject to the substrate and the approved product formulation.
For medium rust, a typical starting dilution of 1 part product with 1–3 parts water may be used.
For light rust, oxidation and routine maintenance, dilution may be increased to approximately 1:5 to 1:10 with water.
Apply the prepared solution uniformly to the rusted area using a suitable acid-resistant brush, spray equipment or immersion tank. Allow sufficient contact time for the rust to soften and dissolve. Agitation or brushing can accelerate removal of stubborn deposits.
Do not allow the product to dry on the surface. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
For steel surfaces that will not immediately be painted or coated, an appropriate neutralization/passivation or temporary corrosion-protection treatment is recommended to minimize flash rusting.
Immersion Cleaning
Small rusted components such as tools, bolts, fittings and mechanical parts may be immersed in a suitably diluted solution.
Typical procedure:
- Remove loose dirt, oil and grease before treatment.
- Prepare the required RXSOL Rust Remover solution.
- Immerse the component and periodically inspect the surface.
- Remove when the required degree of rust removal has been achieved.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
- Neutralize where required.
- Dry promptly and apply corrosion protection if the component is not immediately coated.
On completion of degreasing CLEANING OPERATION if rust / scale ( water ) stains from metal surface ,use 10 to 50% of RXSOL-16-1088-025 with fresh water for 20 -30 minutes.
Appearance : Clear & Colourless fLiquid
Specific gravity (200C) : 1.21
Flash point cc : None
Note : Also can be used for Disc cleaning without dismantling Disc Stacks
: Improves efficiency of centrifuge installation.
Useful Area
Important Material Compatibility
RXSOL Rust Remover is intended primarily for compatible ferrous metal surfaces. Acidic rust removers can attack sensitive materials.
Avoid uncontrolled application on aluminium, zinc, galvanized steel, magnesium, marble, limestone and other acid-sensitive surfaces. Compatibility with stainless steel and non-ferrous alloys depends on the specific acid chemistry, concentration, temperature and exposure time.
A small compatibility test should be carried out before treating an unfamiliar substrate.
Handling & Safety
RXSOL Rust Remover is an acidic chemical product. Appropriate chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and eye/face protection should be used during handling.
Always add the product to water when preparing dilutions, unless the approved product instructions specify otherwise. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and avoid inhalation of spray mist.
Do not mix with chlorine-releasing chemicals, hypochlorites, alkaline cleaners or incompatible chemicals.
Refer to the current RXSOL Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) before use.
Storage
Store in the original, tightly closed, acid-resistant container in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep separated from alkalis, oxidizing agents, chlorine products and incompatible materials.
